Decomposition of an Order Isomorphism between Matrix-ordered Hilbert Spaces

The purpose of this note is to show that any order isomorphism between noncommutative L2-spaces associated with von Neumann algebras is decomposed into a sum of a completely positive map and a completely copositive map. The result is an L2 version of a theorem of Kadison for a Jordan isomorphism on operator algebras.

On the Decomposition of Hilbert Spaces

Basic relation between numerical range and Davis-Wielandt shell of an operator $A$ acting on a Hilbert space with orthonormal basis $xi={e_{i}|i in I}$ and its conjugate $bar{A}$ which is introduced in this paper are obtained. The results are used to study the relation between point spectrum, approximate spectrum and residual spectrum of $A$ and $bar{A}$. A necessary and sufficient condition fo...

Orthogonal Decomposition and Packing of Complete Graphs

An H-decomposition of a graph G is a partition of the edge-set of G into subsets, where each subset induces a copy of the graph H. A k-orthogonal H-decomposition of a graph G is a set of k H-decompositions of G, such that any two copies of H in distinct H-decompositions intersect in at most one edge. In case G=Kn and H=Kr , a k-orthogonal Kr -decomposition of Kn is called an (n, r, k) completel...

Metrizability of spaces of homomorphisms between metric vector spaces

Ťhis note tries to give an answer to the following question: Is there a sufficiently rich class of metric vector spaces such that sufficiently large spaces of continuous linear maps between them are metrizable?

Properties of Matrix Orthogonal Polynomials via their Riemann–Hilbert Characterization

We give a Riemann–Hilbert approach to the theory of matrix orthogonal polynomials. We will focus on the algebraic aspects of the problem, obtaining difference and differential relations satisfied by the corresponding orthogonal polynomials. We will show that in the matrix case there is some extra freedom that allows us to obtain a family of ladder operators, some of them of 0-th order, somethin...
